Dr. Emma Williamson grew up in Northern Ireland surrounded by horses, fox hunting and showjumping throughout the country. The daughter of a veterinary surgeon determined to follow in her father’s footsteps, she studied veterinary medicine and surgery at the University of Edinburgh, Royal School of Veterinary Studies (R.S.V.S) graduating in 2002.
Dr. Emma initially worked in mixed practice in the North of England for 2 years, and then completed an internship at Virginia Tech, Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, V.A. Following her time at Virginia Tech, Dr. Emma continued to specialize in equine veterinary practice, completing a residency at University of Edinburgh R.S.V. S. In working with world renowned veterinary professors in the UK and USA, Dr. Emma has developed a particular interest in equine lameness, diagnostic imaging and equine dentistry.
Licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina fully accredited with USDA and a member of the Royal College Veterinary Surgeons, Dr Emma is currently working toward acupuncture certification from the traditional Chinese Medicine Chi Institute in Florida.
